10 ways to listen to trees

Trees are anything but silent, they sound in many different ways. We can hear the wind blowing through its leaves, the soft crackling of its bark and the bustling insects crawling around on them. For human ears many of these sounds are imperceptible and still there are many ways to make the sounds of trees audible to us.

David George Huskell, professor of biology at the University of The South and author, opens up the mysterious stories hiding behind the trees tones in his new book „The Songs of Trees“. In a very well written article in the “Scientific American” he gives an insight into 10 different ways to make trees audible to us. Enjoy!
